President’s Message

August 2008

We have some busy months ahead of us that include NCM events, elections and several car shows.  We need additional volunteers for many of the NCM events and while you’re busy preparing for the car shows and the big event, I need you to consider who you would nominate for club officers.  The elections are in November and the yet to be identified election committee will be contacting you in Sep/Oct for your nominations.

We’re also in the middle of selecting a permanent meeting place which I know will please everyone.  It’s been a long road but I think experiencing each location has given the membership the opportunity to make an informed decision.  Now all you need to do is vote (see my e-mail on this subject).

Special thanks goes to Al and Helen Hemstreet for putting on a fantastic gathering at their lake house.  I didn’t get to go but everyone I talked to said, “they outdid themselves”!  I also understand Better Homes and Gardens plans to do a spread on their place but I haven’t had a chance to validate the rumor.  Everyone says it’s a real showplace.

Again - I want to thank all the club members who represented us well at the various car shows this past month.  Six cars went to Atlanta and three brought home prizes.  We also met a lot of great Vette-heads and shared experience, expertise and stories which is the real purpose of attending these events.  Keep up the great work and representation of CLCG.   The next show is in Macon in support of the Shriners fund raiser.  See you there!

Save the Wave!

Wishing you all the best,
John Glover
